Insider reports indicate that Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks is still in doubt at this time. While some have stated that the two-time NBA MVP will remain with the team he has supported throughout his career, others believe he may be seeking a trade agreement or an exit.

"Following the franchise's third straight first-round playoff exit, the two-time NBA MVP has not made any concrete choices regarding his future with the Bucks. However, for the first time in his career, Antetokounmpo is open to considering whether staying in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere is in his best long-term interest," league sources told ESPN. Antetokounmpo is no longer putting all his bets on the Bucks, and he's open to seeing other offers as well, even if nothing definite has been said so far.

What's next for the Bucks and Giannis' representatives as they prepare for offseason discussions?

NBA Insider Brian Windhorst offered a significantly different perspective during a recent ESPN televised interview, stating that the Bucks are not considering any conversation on the issue right now. "At the moment, there are no talks or trade market for Giannis Antetokounmpo." He hasn't requested it. "The Bucks are not looking to trade him," he stated.

Until league changes, the likelihood of Antetokounmpo being traded remains highest up to June's draft night. "The Bucks and Antetokounmpo's representatives, Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis, are expected to sit down during the offseason to discuss the future," sources told ESPN.

If Antetokounmpo were released during the offseason, teams would ideally be jumping at the chance to negotiate a contract with him, given his remarkable numbers of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 34.2 minutes per game during the 2024-25 season.
