While captaining the Texas Super Kings in the Major League Cricket 2025, Faf du Plessis once again struggled to make a big score and recorded another low score. The former Proteas captain was out for only seven runs against Seattle Orcas on Tuesday, and he has not yet made a significant contribution with the bat during the early stage of this season's MLC.

The 40-year-old started slowly, scoring only 7 runs off 11 deliveries, which allowed West Indies fast bowler Obed McCoy to take advantage and dismiss him. In the fifth over of the innings, McCoy surprised the experienced batter with a short ball, causing him to angle his face to regain his balance and even collapse onto his back as he gloved it behind the stumps to Heinrich Klaasen.

It was Du Plessis's third back-to-back low score in the tournament. In the last two matches against MI New York and Los Angeles Knight Riders, he was dismissed for 18 and 8, respectively.

Klaasen earlier won the toss and chose to bowl first, but Du Plessis was undeterred by his opponent's choice.

"Hopefully, we keep winning the game even if we keep losing the toss." In the last 10 overs of the match, it skids on better. After obtaining his visa, Marcus Stoinis is now here. "We need to make the most of our momentum and not take it for granted, we need to take care of the fundamentals, and we need to show up with a mindset to perform," Du Plessis said at the toss.

TSK scored a competitive 153/6.

Texas Super Kings, on the other hand, were able to put up a respectable 153/6 on the scoreboard despite the poor performances of star openers Du Plessis (7) and Devon Conway (13). Marcus Stoinis shifted the momentum in Texas' favor by scoring 28 runs off 12 balls and hitting four sixes. With his couple of sixes, Shubham Ranjane also added a little polish to their performance with his brief 18-run cameo.

Obed McCoy and Waqar Salamkheil contributed with one wicket each for Seattle Orcas, while Harmeet Singh and Jasdeep Singh scored two goals apiece.

The Texas Super Kings easily defeated the Los Angeles Knight Riders by 57 runs in the fifth game of Major League Cricket at the Oakland Coliseum, thanks to a brilliant four-wicket performance from Afghanistan's spin ace Noor Ahmad, who ensured that his teammates' batting contributions were not squandered. This victory marked the team's second in a row.
