He told CBS Sports, "I couldn't believe it, honestly. I thought it was like heartburn, but it just kind of persisted."

Barry Sanders stated that he experienced a burning feeling in his chest when he woke up that morning. Sanders left the recruiting visit early and then drove himself to the emergency room that same afternoon. Tests showed that Sanders had "really high and getting higher" enzyme levels. He then had a heart catheter procedure, which confirmed that he had experienced a heart attack.

The NFL great has set out to promote understanding of heart issues and early detection techniques.

"I don't know why, but that simply never occurred to me among all things." Barry Sanders stated, "I'm learning through this process that there aren't necessarily any warning signs, unless you do what we're encouraging people to do, which is to go to the doctor, get tested for LDLC levels, or bad cholesterol."

He emphasized that the only way a patient can discover this is by getting tested, and that it is not limited to those with a specific physical appearance.

"The only way to know whether you have high cholesterol is in this manner." You won't be able to experience it. "You don't have to fit a certain physical profile," he continued.

In the documentary, Barry Sanders also discussed his experience meeting others who have had similar health issues. In his documentary, he assembles four additional individuals who had a heart attack or stroke to reveal the concealed dangers, enduring effects, and information they wish to share with others.

"It’s really been an education for me, learning about how frequent this happens all over the US. engaging with the other people featured in this documentary, who have fascinating and informative narratives to share about their experiences. It's simply astounding. "I think it will get a lot of people's attention," said Barry Sanders.
