According to the Auburn Tigers, Tahaad Pettiford, the team's basketball standout, pulled out of the NBA draft procedure on Wednesday.

Tahaad Pettiford became one of the top players in his class nationwide during his first year alone. In the season that came to an end last month, he was the third-highest scorer for the Auburn basketball team. For the Tigers, he averaged 11.6 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Between the Round of 64 and the Elite Eight a few months ago, Tahaad Pettiford averaged 17.3 points, making him a key player in the Tigers' journey to the Final Four. In Auburn's NCAA Tournament victories over Michigan and Creighton, he recorded 20 and 23 points, respectively.

The reason Tahaad Pettiford decided against entering the 2025 NBA Draft is listed below.

According to the Tigers, Tahaad Pettiford opted to return to Auburn basketball for his sophomore year and pull out of the next 2025 NBA Draft. He was predicted to be selected in the first round of this year's NBA Draft.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Pettiford said that he was coming back to Auburn and, consequently, pulling out of the 2025 NBA Draft. Pettiford shared a picture with the message "I'm back" in the article.

The caption read, "Heard they wanted to run it back at Neville?" A highlight reel from Pettiford's debut season at Auburn was also included in the Instagram post.

Bruce Pearl, the head coach of Auburn Basketball, would be happy to have one of his top players return for the upcoming campaign. Even prior to the announcement of the decision to return, he had explained what Pettiford's role would be in the group.

"If he does return, he'll have to play an enlarged role, which I know is something that is exciting to him and probably exciting to our fan base, too, because we'll get to see more of him. Pearl said on May 19 that he would be a starter and that there would be more information about him.
