Samuthirakani's upcoming bilingual thriller, Ramam Raghavam, is gearing up for release. The latest from the film is that a new poster of the actor from the film has been released today. On the occasion of Ram Navami, the makers released an intense poster of Samuthirakani’s character with the caption, “Team #RamamRaghavam wishing everyone a very happy #SriRamNavami (sic)”.

The new poster features Samuthirakani as a middle-aged man who sports glasses and has a tilak on his forehead. With his hand on his chin, it is clear that the actor plays a serious role in the film. In the teaser that was released on Valentine’s Day, it was revealed that Samuthirakani plays a father and actor Dhanraj is his son. Although the character's name has not been revealed, it is safe to assume that his character might be called Ramam, since only Samuthirakani's special poster has been revealed on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. Interestingly, Dhanraj has also turned director with this film.

An emotional family drama

The teaser for Ramam Raghavam gave a peek into a heartwarming father-son relationship between Samuthirakani and Dhanraj's characters. Although not much has been revealed about the story, it looks like the film is an emotional family drama.

The realistic portrayals of the characters have been well received by viewers, who have compared the movie with Samuthirakani’s 2016 film Appa, which is also based on a father-son relationship. Samuthirakani has played such roles with ease in the past and looks set to impress once again with his acting chops. Touted to be a never-seen-before story about a father-son duo, Ramam Raghavam is an important project for debutant director Dhanraj.

Samuthirakani and Dhanraj’s second collaboration

Samuthirakani and Dhanraj had previously shared screen space in the 2023 film Vimanam, which was directed by Siva Prasad Yanala. Interestingly, Shiv Prasad has written the screenplay for Dhanraj's directorial debut, Ramam Raghavam.

Arun Chiluveru has composed the music for the film, with camera work handled by Durga Prasad and editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh. Ramam Raghavam will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages, and in a few days, the makers will announce the release date.
