Rathnam is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil films this April. As the Vishal-starrer gears up for its theatrical release on April 26, the latest update suggests that the film’s digital rights have been bagged by an OTT platform. According to popular reports, the film’s OTT rights have been purchased by Amazon Prime Video, while its satellite rights have been bagged by ZEE TV.  

Although an official confirmation is awaited, it is almost confirmed by close sources that the bilingual action drama will be available on the OTT giant post its theatrical run.  

Rathnam trailer to be released soon

With the makers of the film announcing that they will be dropping the trailer of the film on April 15, fans are excited to witness what director Hari has in store for them. The director, who has delivered some of the high-octane action dramas such as Suriya’s Singam franchise as well as Vikram-starrer Saamy and Saamy Square, has promised his fans that Rathnam will also not disappoint them.  

Rathnam, a complete action-drama

Touted to be a complete action-drama, the upcoming film Rathnam will see Vishal as a ruthless gangster. The upcoming project marks Vishal's third film with director Hari after Thaamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014). Director Hari had earlier emphasised that he is confident that the film would strike a chord with the masses. He revealed that the film will be a 'complete Hari film', with mass-action dialogues and a rural backdrop. The bilingual action drama has been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

Rathnam cast and crew

Apart from Vishal, the film will also star Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu and Gautham Vasudev Menon in pivotal roles. Acclaimed composer Devi Sri Prasad, who earlier worked with Hari on Aaru, Singam and Venghai, has scored the music for Rathnam. M Sukumar has cranked the camera of the film and TS Jay handles the editing. Hari has also written the dialogues for the Tamil version of Rathnam. The film is slated to hit the big screens on April 26 and will clash with Sundar C’s horror drama Aranmanai 4 at the box office.
