Director Venkat Mohan, who rose to fame with Vishal-starrer Ayogya, is all set to helm his next project with choreographer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence. Titled Hunter, the upcoming film’s poster was unveiled on April 14, on the occasion of Tamil New Year. Speaking more about the upcoming film, the director revealed that the film will be based on wildlife and is going to be an action-adventure flick. “Lawrence master has done a good job portraying his character and will certainly be different from the kind of roles he has essayed so far,” the director revealed.   

The noted director also spilled a few beans about the gist of the film. “The movie will revolve around the bond between a hunter and a tiger. Lawrence will be playing an intense character in the film and will have minimal dialogues. He will also be sporting two looks for the film,” he said.  

Venkat Mohan also revealed that a Bollywood actor will be roped in to play the antagonist in the film, while a Bollywood actress will be playing the female interest. The shoot of the film is set to commence in June 2024.  

An intense poster for Hunter

Earlier, while announcing the film, the makers unveiled a special poster which featured a silhouette of a hunter on top of a roaring tiger. The new poster garnered the attention of fans who have been wanting to see the actor play a different role for a long time. Interestingly, the poster also has a tagline, ‘The Battle for The Soul’. The upcoming film will have music scored by acclaimed composer Devi Sri Prasad. Written and directed by Venkat Mohan, the film is set to hit the big screens in the summer of 2025. 

Raghava Lawrence’s other project

Apart from Hunter, Raghava Lawrence will also be seen in Benz, directed by filmmaker Bakkiyaraj Kannan, under director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s home production company G Squad. It looks like the actor-turned-choreographer might shoot for his next two big films (Benz and Hunter) simultaneously, with Hunter scheduled to begin rolling in June.
