Mohanlal's film Chotta Mumbai was set to make a comeback to theatres on May 21. However, Thudarum's remarkable run in theatres has caused a delay in the re-release. The comedy action drama, which had a theatrical debut in 2007, will be back on big screen on June 6, it has officially been confirmed.

Chotta Mumbai new re-release date

The producers have confirmed that the first show will start on June 6 at 10 a.m. At this time, there are currently no other Malayalam films have a release slated on the same day. It is logical to assume that the release of several films, including Narivetta and Detective Ujjwalan, may have also delayed the re-release of Chotta Mumbai in May. 

Mohanlal is in the limelight right now because his latest movie, Thudarum, is doing so well at the box office. The film will begin streaming on Jio Hotstar from May 30. To the joy of Lalettan fans, it has been revealed that the Lucifer star's Udayananu Tharam would also be re-released on June 20.

Chotta Mumbai was a box office hit

Chotta Mumbai is available on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. Set in Fort Kochi, the film, directed by Anwar Rasheed, stars Mohanlal as Vasco, affectionately known as "Thala" by his circle of quirky pals. Known for directing films like Rajamanikyam, Anwar Rasheed most recently produced Pravinkoodu Shappu, starring Basil Joseph. This thriller is now accessible on Sony LIV.

Jagathy Sreekumar, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saikumar, Bijukuttan, Manikuttan, and Siddique are just a few of his friends. Michael Ashan, Thala's father, sets up Latha's marriage to him. The film then centers on the consequences of Thala and his buddies witnessing a police officer being murdered. The protagonist in Chotta Mumbai is Bhavana, who is a woman. With lots of humorous scenes, the action thriller was a popular film at the time and is now regarded by the actor's fans as a cult classic. Some of the film's music continues to be well-liked by the general public.
