Adhipatra was Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 winner Roopesh Shetty’s (Govinda Govinda) first major K annada release after his stint on the show. It came on the back of his successful run as director with the Tulu film Circus, but unfortunately, it did not create the same magic at the box office. The film had Roopesh in cop mode in a tale set in a coastal town. It was initially said that Adhipatra, which came out in early February, would be headed to Prime Video like most other Kannada films.

But according to the latest, it is Sun Network that has procured the satellite and digital rights of the film written and directed by Chayan Shetty. The network has set a tentative streaming date for the film, which is likely to change, but at the moment, June 13, 2025 is when Adhipatra will drop on Sun NXT. It will be available on OTTplay Premium as well. The film also stars Jahnavi Mahadi, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Raghu Pandeshwar, Prashant Nata and MK Mata, among others.

All about Adhipatra

Adhipatra is a murder mystery that unfolds in the forests of coastal Karnataka. Roopesh plays Athreya, a police officer charged with investigating a spate of murders that are being attributed to a Brahma Rakshasa. Athreya, though, is not convinced that a demonic power is at play and sets out to find what, or rather, who is really responsible for these deaths. Jahnavi plays a journalist who is also hoping to get to the bottom of this mystery.

The fact that Jahnavi wasn't the romantic interest in the movie was one of the things that was praised about the film, even if she was the main character. But the remaining components were described as predictable and lacking in innovation. Roopesh has already started working on his upcoming directorial, a Tulu movie titled Jai, a political thriller that introduces Suniel Shetty to the industry, but he has not yet disclosed any new projects in Kannada.
