Malayalam movies maintained its reputation for producing high-quality movies that were also popular with the general public in 2025. With big movies like Thudarum and L2: Empuraan, both starring Mohanlal, the first half of 2025 was a smash, with the former causing a stir as well. Officer on Duty, Rekhachithram, Narivetta, and Ronth are just a few police films that feature Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, and Tovino Thomas as policemen, though they are investigating very different kinds of cases. The cinemas were full of laughter as a result of the Naslen-led Alappuzha Gymkhana. L2: Empuraan

With Empuraan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, a Malayalam filmmaker and actor, continued his 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, making sure that his film captured the shifting political climate in the state. Rekha Chithram

A thriller that combines crime and mystery while still serving as a tribute to Malayalam film. Kunchacko Boban stars in this gripping police drama as the fiery Hari Shankar, who we are informed was demoted. Gymkhana Alappuzha

Naslen is once again the endearing youngster who is having trouble in school. As he brings his pals to Alappuzha Gymkhana, he questions why he doesn't participate in the boxing event to earn grace marks. Narivetta
