This week, the OTT space will be getting exciting as major titles will be dropping across the streaming platforms. While Tamil cinema is awaiting the release of its multi-starrer Thug Life, no prominent theatrical releases are scheduled. However, there are some major OTT releases lined up and we have got you covered.

Latest Tamil OTT releases (May 26-June 1) to watch on Prime Video, JioHotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV, Aha Tamil

Retro – Netflix (May 31)

Surya plays the protagonist in the Tamil love thriller Retro, which was helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, the director of Petta. Retro is a historical drama featuring Santhosh Narayanan's music that follows the story of an orphaned gangster's adopted kid who becomes the chosen one to rescue the inhabitants of the country from which he was kidnapped. Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, and others are among the cast members. Under the 2D Entertainment banner, Jyotika and Suriya produced the movie.

Nizharkudai – OTTplay Premium (May 30)

Nizharkudai is a 2025 Tamil film written and directed by filmmaker Shiva Arumugam, and headlined by Thenali actor Devayani. The film revolves around refugee's emotional bond with a child for whom she is working as a caretaker. However, when the parents chase after their American dream, the child's emotional support is put to test. The film's cast also comprises of actors Vijjith and Kanmani Manoharan among others.

Vaanil Thedinen – OTTplay Premim (May 31)

Vaanil Thedinen is an upcoming web series which is expected to be a romantic drama. It will consist of four episodes and is written and directed by debutant Alvin Deva. The musical romantic drama is expected to explore the shades of love and features Madhan Kumar, Shivram, Pooja and Haripriya.

HIT: The Third Case – Netflix (May 29)

HIT: The Third Case stars Jersey actor Nani in the lead role and has Srinidhi Shetty play the female lead. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film is a crime thriller and third part in the franchise. It revolves around a ruthless cop who is part of the Homicide Intervention Team, factiously created for the HIT universe, to nab a bunch of killers. Actor Karthi makes a cameo appearance. The Telugu film will be available in Tamil to stream.

Thudarum – JioHotstar (May 30)

Starring Mohanlal and Shobana in the lead role, the film is directed by Operation Java director Tharun Moorthy. The film is about a cab driver who lives with his wife and two children somewhere in a small town in Kerala. Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, and Binu Pappu are also part of the cast. The Malayalam film will be available in Tamil to stream.
