Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout review

One bar, multiple killings and a Special Crime Unit tasked with solving the case! This was the simple storyline that was narrated through the promotional materials of Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout. However, the Aban Bharucha Deohans directorial, featuring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role, turns out to be a complicated thriller.

The basic premise of Silence 2 is set with ACP Avinash Verma getting a call from his senior official, who asks him to look into The Night Owl Bar Shootout, which caused several deaths. As instructed by his official, ACP Avinash investigates the case with his Special Crime Unit from an angle that the agenda was to kill the personal secretary of another senior official at the bar. However, ACP Avinash is quick to find out that the motto of the culprit wasn't to kill the personal secretary, but a girl named Aazma Khan. Hereon, he delves deeper into the case, which unravels several harsh realities. Will the ACP and his team, comprising Prachi Desai, Vaquar Shaikh and Sahil Vaid, be able to solve the case on time and find out the real culprit behind the mass shootout? That is something for you to watch in the film.

There's no denying the fact that Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout's plot is intriguing and has the potential to keep you on the edge of your seat. But Silence 2 falters when it tries to tap into several important subjects but manages to justify only a few. The good part is that Manoj Bajpayee's film addresses some serious issues (for example - human trafficking). However, some aspects, including why the killer shot multiple people at the bar when the target was just one, meet with an abrupt end and do not provide a proper explanation.

Silence 2 is a complicated tale where it gets entangled in its own wires at a few junctures. The film loses its hold by the end and makes you even question the time you invested in watching the entire story. Aban Bharucha Deohans' film further fails to offer a concrete backstory for a few characters, who are crucial to the movie's plot. Despite its flaws, Silence 2 offers thrills in bits and parts, and keeps the curiosity factor alive.

As far as the star cast is concerned, Manoj Bajpayee stays true to his part in the film and plays ACP Avinash Verma with utmost sincerity. His Special Crime Unit, which includes Prachi Desai, Vaquar Shaikh and Sahil Vaid, shoulders the responsibility well. Their collective team effort pays off and saves the ship from sinking. The supporting star cast should be given credit for making Silence 2 a decent watch.

Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout verdict

Long story short, Manoj Bajpayee and Prachi Desai's Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout highlights serious issues. However, the suspense-thriller is marred due to an abrupt end.
