Kuberaa, the Dhanush-starrer film which hit theatres on Friday (June 20), has been receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews from audience and critics alike. The film is written and directed by Sekhar Kammula and also stars Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh and others.

While it is a common notion that films with longer runtime might not sit well with the audience, Kuberaa seems to have broken the curse. The film which has a runtime of over three hours, is being thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, at times when the attention span has been reducing.

Kuberaa movie reviews show good sign as Dhanush’s film runtime doesn’t matter

It’s raining praises for Dhanush, who has once again aced a different role this time. With Kuberaa, the actor plays the role of a beggar and Dhanush left no crumbs as his performance left audience in awe.

The filmmakers opted for a lengthy running time of more than three hours under Sekhar Kammula's direction. When films have a tendency to drag on, it's not unexpected that viewers become restless. However, Kuberaa has flipped the script, maintained a lengthy run, and managed to wow the crowd. The movie has been lauded since its release on Friday, with particular attention paid to Dhanush's performance and commitment. This demonstrates that a picture can be successful even if it has a longer running time if it makes effective use of the audience' time.

Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Kuberaa. Backed by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd Producers, the film has music scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The technical crew also includes production design by Thota Tharani and Niketh Bommi cranking the camera. Karthika Srinivas is the editor.

Dhanush plays the role of a beggar in the film, who locks horns with Nagarjuna’s millionaire with the knack to execute a financial fraud. It is the first time the actors are working together.
