As part of a larger initiative to address the nation's growing obesity rates, the Health Ministry has singled out well-liked Indian foods like jalebis and samosas. To teach the public about the health hazards of eating too many fried and sugary meals, it has instructed central establishments, such as AIIMS Nagpur, to display "oil and sugar boards."
