One of the most popular talk shows is Koffee With Karan, which Karan Johar launched in 2004. A resurfaced clip from Season 1 is currently circulating online, in which Bollywood stars discuss Aishwarya Rai's potential in Hollywood, and the reactions of Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan are unforgettable.

What Aishwarya Rai's decision to go to Hollywood meant for Abhishek Bachchan

In episode 4 of Season 1 of Koffee With Karan, Karan welcomed Aishwarya Rai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Karan presented Aishwarya with a video montage of performers answering the question of whether she would succeed in Hollywood during the episode. "Yes, she is very talented, a wonderful professional and a great person to work with," stated Abhishek Bachchan. "I hope she does, but I don't think so," said Sanjay Dutt. "I think she has already taken a step toward it," Bipasha Basu remarked. "I think she's got a universal appeal," Zayed Khan said in his positive response. "I don't know if she will, but I hope she does because my first assignment as a flunkie was with her, so I pray for her," stated Ektaa Kapoor.

"I think she's got everything required," Shabana Azmi said, "but it is for her to decide whether she wants to go there or feels more secure being here." I believe she has the necessary skills. "She is being put out there as someone who is going to take Bollywood to Hollywood, and for the sake of that, I would want it to happen," Sushmita Sen stated, referring to her rival at the time.

"She will go a certain distance, but then there will be the glass ceiling," stated Amitabh Bachchan.

Abhishek was not married to Aishwarya at the time, for those who are unfamiliar. The couple got married in 2007 and gave birth to Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011. Meanwhile, Aishwarya made her Hollywood debut in 2004 with Bride & Prejudice, directed by Gurinder Chadha, a cross-cultural interpretation of Jane Austen's classic, after gaining international fame by winning the Miss World title in 1994 and appearing in critically acclaimed Indian films such as Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. She later starred alongside Steve Martin in The Pink Panther 2, Provoked, and The Mistress of Spices.
