Surveen Chawla began her career as an actor in television shows like Kaajjal and Kahin To Hoga before gaining fame for her work in Punjabi and Hindi films. Surveen discussed in a recent interview with Hauterrfly how the label of "TV actor" caused her to lose out on roles and how she was once told to put on weight in order to work in South cinema.

Because she was labeled a "TV actor," Surveen Chawla lost out on movie roles.

The term "television actor" was discussed by Surveen, who also remembered how it caused her to miss out on movies. "You are exposed," people advised her, she recalled, adding, "I was told, don't do this for some time." You shouldn't be seen. "If you go down South, you need to gain weight; if you come back here to Hindi cinema, you need to lose weight."
