Liam Gallagher of Oasis has issued an unconditional apology for using a racial slur in a now-deleted social media post earlier this week. The singer took to Twitter (now called X) on Wednesday to write his apology and emphasised that he does not discriminiate.

"Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn't intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x," Liam wrote in the apology post.

Liam tweeted a popular racial term for East Asians earlier in the week, then removed it. Although the tweet is still accessible through screenshots, it has drawn backlash from social media users towards the Oasis celebrity. "You can't say that, Liam," one user said. "Why," he responded, and another user replied, "Cuz it's racist." In response, the vocalist penned "Behave!" But in the days that followed, Liam not only removed the message but also apologized. However, some of the band's followers are upset by the apology, claiming that Liam did not need to apologize and that the comment was just "moderate banter."

Just before Oasis's much anticipated reunion trip, which will kick off in Wales this Saturday, Liam Gallagher published his obnoxious post. The tour was first revealed in September of last year by the British rock group, with dates for the UK being released first, followed soon after by dates for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The group just announced that they would also be releasing a companion film linked to the concerts, which Steven Knight would direct.
