One of the most discussed romances of the early 2000s was the connection between Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. In a recent interview with Filmymantra Media, Smita Jaykar, their co-star in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, discussed how their love blossomed during the film's production and how it even helped the movie.
The love between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, according to Smita Jaykar
Smita recalled the cast members of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam sitting and playing Antakshari, referring to them as a large family. When asked about Salman and Aishwarya's romance, she responded, "Yes, they fell in love there." There, their relationship blossomed. And it really helped the movie. Romance was visible on their faces, and they both had those big, round eyes. The movie benefited greatly from it.
Speaking of Salman and Aishwarya separately, Smita remarked, "Salman is quite a brat." I am unsure of his current situation, but he was at that point. He is a kind and generous individual. I haven't observed him lose his cool on set. Everybody gets mad at someone, right? However, when it comes to film figures, people have a tendency to exaggerate. When someone provokes you, it's only natural that you would get furious, correct? The other person's perspective—what they did to ignite that rage—is unknown to us. Aishwarya is stunningly attractive. Even without makeup, she was still gorgeous. At least when I first met her, she was extremely modest and down to earth.
About Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
The romantic drama, which deals with themes of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery, is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie stars Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Ajay Devgn, and it follows the life of Nandini, who falls in love with Sameer but is eventually married to Vanraj. The movie was a huge success, known for its stunning images, soulful music by Ismail Darbar, and great performances. The film's critical acclaim and several accolades may be attributed to the chemistry between Aishwarya and Salman, as well as Bhansali's lyrical narrative.
The connection between Aishwarya and Salman, which started during the movie's production, eventually became strained. In 2002, Aishwarya verified their split. Salman is still single, although she has since moved on and wed Abhishek Bachchan.
