However, her 'good friend' Rekha had her taken out of the film and even had her scenes removed from another project because she acted well.

Aruna remembered collaborating with Rekha on the film Aurat Aurat Aurat and remarked, "Producers ki wajah se picture bante bante 6 saal lag gaye." Mera bhot achha role tha, central character tha. Everyone would wish for that kind of part. However, many people forced me to cut it down. Rekha ji humari, voh dene hi nahi deti thi, ki nahi Aruna ka role bhut accha hai. The movie took six years to produce because of the producers. I played the lead in a great role. Everyone would beg for a position like that. However, it had to be reduced because of a number of folks. For example, Rekha Ji simply would not permit it. She replied, "No, Aruna's role is too good."

Rekha has previously had Aruna Irani removed from a movie

She then remembered saying, "Rekha took me off a movie even though she was a good friend of mine," as well as how Rekha used her acting abilities to get her removed from yet another production.
