Festivities for Eid-ul-Adha in 2025:

Eid ul-Adha is a period of introspection and spiritual rebirth because it reminds all Muslims of the value of faith, devotion, and submission to God's will, while also promoting a sense of togetherness and inclusivity as individuals from various origins come together to commemorate this happy event. In addition to fostering stronger familial and communal ties, the event promotes deeds of charity and compassion, which are fundamental to Islam.

For Muslims all over the world, it is a period of immense joy, togetherness, and thanks as families get together and communities come together to celebrate this happy occasion. Muslims attend particular congregational prayers at mosques or outdoor prayer grounds, wearing their best attire, which is frequently brand new.

One of the main ceremonies of Eid ul-Adha is the qurbani, which is the sacrifice of an animal, usually a goat, sheep, cow, or camel, while the sermon during the Eid-ul-Adha prayers highlights the virtues of sacrifice, obedience to God, and compassion for others. This action represents Prophet Ibrahim's readiness to give up his son and highlights the value of altruism and commitment to God.

Sharing the meat from the sacrificed animal with the less fortunate is a key component of Eid ul-Adha, and the meat is subsequently split into three pieces: one for the family, one for friends and family, and one for the less fortunate. This ceremony encourages community compassion, generosity, and unity.

Eid ul-Adha, which is observed by Muslims worldwide in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, is the second most important Islamic holiday that Muslims celebrate, following Eid-ul-Fitr. The month of Dhu al-Hijjah is the twelfth or final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The holiday commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's unwavering commitment to God.

Eid Al Adha is celebrated on the tenth day after the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, which is when the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, one of the five pillars of Islam, takes place. If at all possible, every Muslim must undertake the pilgrimage known as hajj at least once in their life.
