Manchu Vishnu is shooting for his dream project, Kannappa. The fantasy drama is being shot extensively in New Zealand and has already wrapped a new schedule. We at OTTplay have already reported that Prabhas will play Lord Shiva in this film, and the makers announced this.

Prabhas to do a special role in Kannappa

Now, as per the latest update, Prabhas will not play the role of Lord Shiva, but he will be seen as Nadeeswara in the period drama. Going into details, Prahas himself has requested Manchu Vishnu that he does not want to play Lord Shiva and wants to do yet another role.

The reason behind this is that Prabhas is already playing an avatar of Lord Shiva in his new film Kalki 2898 AD and does not want to repeat roles. That is the reason he will be seen as Nandeeswara. The same was conveyed to the makers who happily obliged to the star.

Akshay Kumar to play Lord Shiva in Kannappa

The film was in the news as Manchu Vishnu also printed the story of Kannappa as a book and released it on the occasion of his father, legendary actor Mohan Babu's birthday a few weeks ago. The news is also that Prabhas has given seven days of his dates for Kannappa and will join the sets soon.

Mohan Lal will also play a key role in this film. Hindi actor Akshay Kumar will reprise the role of Lord Shiva, and Anushka Shetty will play Parvathi Devi. Vishnu Manchu is leaving no stone unturned to make his dream project one of the biggest films in his career.

Kannappa is being directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and has camerawork by Sheldon Chau. The action is being composed by Kecha Khamphakdee, and Prabhu Deva is composing the songs. Vishnu Manchu himself is producing this film on a massive note.
