Yashasvi Jaiswal Set to Play for Mumbai in New Domestic Season After Withdrawing NOC

Following the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Monday decision to accept the left-handed batter's request to withdraw his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) application, Yashasvi Jaiswal is now free to play for Mumbai in the next domestic season. In a letter to the MCA earlier this year, the young India opener requested the MCA's permission to relocate to Goa for domestic cricket.

But a few days later, he went back to the MCA and requested that the cricket organization cancel his NOC since he is free to represent Mumbai during the local season.

The MCA has approved the southpaw's application two months later, making the batter accessible to Mumbai. The Apex Council gave the choice its approval on Monday.

"Yashasvi has always been a proud product of Mumbai cricket. In an official release, MCA President Ajinkya Naik stated, "We have approved Jaiswal's request to withdraw his NOC, and he will be available for Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season."

Jaiswal astonished everyone in April 2025 when he applied to the MCA for a NOC to relocate to Goa. The change was explained by the hitter for private reasons. Had he actually made the transfer, he would have been among the Mumbai players who have played for Goa alongside Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad.

Jaiswal had then told the Indian Express that he wanted to relocate to Goa because the state gave him a leadership position.

"Goa has given me a new opportunity and given me a leadership position. I will always be playing for Goa and working to help them advance in the competition whenever I'm not representing my nation. My priority will be to do well for India. I seized this (significant) opportunity when it came my way, said Jaiswal.

In the Headingley Test against England, Jaiswal achieves a century

Jaiswal got off to a great start in the most recent series against England, scoring 101 in the opening innings of the Headingley Test. But he made headlines for dropping four catches throughout the game, three of which occurred in the first inning.

In the first innings, he dropped Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook, and in the second innings, he dropped Duckett once more.

Jaiswal represented the state against Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy earlier this year when it comes to Indian cricket.

Since his days in the U19 league, Jaiswal has been representing Mumbai.
