In the Indian Premier League's history, Rohit Sharma, a legend for the Mumbai Indians, was the first Indian to reach 300 sixes. He set this incredible milestone in the team's Eliminator game against the Gujarat Titans during the 2025 campaign. After 271 games in the tournament since its inception in 2008, Rohit hit his 300th six against Rashid Khan. With 357 sixes, Chris Gayle is at the top of the league's list of six-hitters; Rohit is second overall.

Representing the now-defunct Deccan Chargers for three seasons, Rohit's IPL career started with them before the Mumbai Indians lured him in. Since then, he has been a member of the franchise and shares the record for most league championships in IPL history with five. With the team making its first playoff appearance under the all-rounder in 2025, Hardik Pandya took over the leadership position from Rohit last year.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed twice during the game against the Gujarat Titans, the first time being just 11 balls into the contest. The second dropped catch, though, would hurt the Titans more because it was a pretty easy caught-behind chance for Kusal Mendis.

It's fascinating that the stroke that gave him 300 sixes also gave him 7000 IPL runs. With Virat Kohli holding the top position, Rohit continues to be the second-highest run scorer in IPL history. With 5439 runs, MS Dhoni is still the closest active cricketer to the pair, while KL Rahul is not far behind with 5222 runs under his belt.
