India, June 6—On Tuesday, the Phoenix Mercury signed rookie guard Megan McConnell. The former Duquesne player was included in the franchise's training camp but was let go before the season. In her first game, she scored three points in a Commissioner's Cup loss against the Minnesota Lynx.
Following their victory against the New York Knicks in the Western Conference Finals, the Indiana Pacers will play their first NBA Finals game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. TJ McConnell also entered the game in style, donning his sister's brand-new No. 16 Mercy jersey.
Megan was a start player for four years at Chartiers Valley High School during her high school career.

Additionally, she was selected for the Pennsylvania Writers All-State team, and in her junior and senior years, she was also chosen for the first team all-state in class 5A.
In addition, Chartiers Valley had the longest winning run in Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League history—57 games—through her final 57 collegiate games.
