A tornado warning that impacted the Paycom Center area on Sunday interrupted Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The ABC and ESPN broadcast was moved to distant sites, which means that there won't be any reporters at the site for the major game, but the game itself wasn't canceled.

According to Andrew Marchand of the Athletic, ESPN/ABC was compelled to broadcast the event from afar. Mike Breen and his team will continue to be at the courtside, he said.

Due to a tornado warning in OKC, ESPN/ABC may be forced to broadcast Game 2 of the NBA Finals from a distance. Even if the production vehicles outside the arena may not be available, Mike Breen & company will still be providing commentary from the court side. ESPN would have control over the images and productions from either Bristol or Los Angeles, according to a tweet from Marchang on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Information on Tornado Warnings

With strong thunderstorms, massive hail, and the chance of embedded tornadoes, forecasters issued a tornado warning for Oklahoma City and the surrounding areas on Sunday. Following a similar occurrence on June 3 that rerouted the Pacers' flight to Tulsa, the warning was in effect while the game was being prepared.

The Paycom Center established safety procedures, instructing visitors to seek refuge in shelters if necessary. There are currently no reports of player evacuations.

Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City will attempt to make up for the narrow defeat in Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers. With only a few points left till he reaches the 3000-point milestone this year, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is looking for his first championship victory.

"I've stated this so many times; I don't play for the individual stuff," Gilgeous-Alexander remarked. "I've never in my life played for anything other than winning."

After finishing the regular season with a 68-14 record, the Thunder entered the playoffs as the NBA's top overall seed. On Thursday night, they lost Game 1 to the Pacers 111-110.

The Pacers will probably be overwhelming favorites if they win Game 2. The series will move to Indianapolis for Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday.
