The NBA Finals Game 5 is about to begin, and there will be something special for the fans: the starting lineup introductions for both the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers.

ABC will air the starting lineup introductions prior to the 8:30 PM ET tip-off, according to a report by Shams Charania of ESPN. Since the 2013 matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat, this will be the first time that such introductions are aired before the NBA finals.

"Exciting news: ABC will air the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers' starting lineup introductions before Game 5 of the NBA Finals this evening (8:30 PM ET), marking the first time since 2013 that the Finals has broadcasted starting introductions, according to sources," Charania said on the X social media site.

With the series still tied, NBA Finals Game 5 will begin Monday night in Oklahoma. Getting those introductions will add another fantastic dimension to the experience, even if everyone will undoubtedly be focused on the game's outcome.

The NBA Finals went back and forth

There has been a constant back-and-forth in the NBA Finals. After losing Game 1 to Indiana, Oklahoma City had to respond in Game 2. After reclaiming the series lead in Game 3, Indiana saw Oklahoma City respond once more in Game 4, tying the series at 2-2.

Now, it's time for Game 5. Sometimes referred to as the swing game. The victor on Monday night — The Pacers vs. Thunder game in Oklahoma City will give them a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals, putting them one victory closer to raising the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

The series will probably be won by the winner of Game 5. In the last 31 instances of the NBA Finals being tied at two games apiece, it has occurred 23 times that way.
