The withdrawal of Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Yusuf Pathan, which resulted in the cancellation of the India vs Pakistan game on Sunday at the World Champions of Legends (WC 2025), brought a new dimension to cricket in the UK. There are currently several Indian teams in England competing in various formats, including the men's, women's, and U19 boys' squads. The celebrities of yesteryear also participated in the festivities, but the celebration ended abruptly when the former Indian cricketers boycotted the game against Pakistan. The cancellation caused widespread conjecture that made its way to the current Indian team in Manchester.

In the lead-up to the fourth Test against England, when questioned about the canceled WCL India vs. Pakistan match at a press conference, the quick bowler Mohammed Siraj grew uneasy and somewhat agitated.

When the journalist questioned Siraj about WCL, his initial response was, "I don't know." However, the journalist ignored the hint. He posed one more question. This time, it's all about Siraj's perspective on competing against Pakistan on the global arena. Siraj said the same thing over and over: "I don't know what to say."

Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the first week of May saw a series of events between India and Pakistan that severely damaged the two nations' sporting ties. Since cricket is still the most popular sport in India and Pakistan, any participation in the game has been met with strong opposition.

From the time the WCL schedule was revealed, Yuvraj, Harbhajan, the Pathan brothers, and Dhawan have all been the target of intense scrutiny. The ex-players then made the decision to pull out of the game against Pakistan. But none of them issued a formal statement except Dhawan.

The organizers of the WCL apologized and stated that they did not want to offend Indian supporters. Due to a five-year agreement with WCL, the competition's sponsors, EaseMyTrip, chose to boycott Pakistan's games.

Siraj: India's workhorse in England

The Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has borne the brunt of the workload throughout the current Test series against England, but he is not particularly worried by the expanding discussions about workload management. At 31 years old, he has participated in every game thus far and is looking forward to playing all five Tests if given the opportunity.

With 109 overs bowled throughout the series thus far, Siraj has surpassed all other Indian pacers in terms of workload. Jasprit Bumrah, who was given a break for the second Test because of workload issues, has bowled 86.4 overs. In two games each, Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep have bowled 62 and 72.1 overs, respectively.

Siraj stated, "Thank God I've been fit and healthy so far." "The data will always show how many overs I've bowled, which is part of contemporary cricket, but I attempt not to dwell on it too much. I'm committed to making the most of the chance and winning games for India.

To date, Siraj has captured 13 wickets in the series, including a noteworthy six-wicket haul at Edgbaston.
