Did Alexander Zverev Share a Shocking Message with Flavio Cobolli After French Open Victory?
6 months ago | 5 Views
Alexander Zverev is still hoping to win his first Grand Slam after a solid win over Flavio Cobolli.
Carlos Alcaraz has dropped Zverev from second to third in the ATP rankings, prompting him to reset recently.
But Zverev looks to be in great shape at Roland Garros, winning his match in straight sets—6-2, 7-5, 6-1.
He’s preparing to face Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor, who’s improving his game as Zverev gears up for tougher matches ahead.
After beating Cobolli, Zverev was sporting and friendly, sharing a moment with the Italian player.
While Zverev might move on to the next round, Cobolli should be proud of making it to the third round of a Slam.
They shared a warm hug at the net after the match. Zverev also told the 26th-ranked Cobolli something after winning.
He said, "Congratulations on everything you’ve done this year. You’ll do even more," as explained by TNT Sports commentator Nick Mullins.
Zverev has played in three Slam finals before. This year’s Roland Garros could be the one he finally wins.
Commentator Miles McClagen said he was very happy with Zverev’s game.
He added, “When he’s playing well, he’s almost unstoppable and can beat anyone in the world.”
His strong start in the first set probably shook Cobolli’s confidence, McClagen said.
Zverev goes back on court Monday, ready to give his best and reach the last eight.
