All conjecture was put to rest when Cristiano Ronaldo, the talisman of Portugal, stated that he is not leaving the Saudi team Al-Nassr. There were rumors that the Portuguese attacker would leave the team, and his contract was due to end on June 30. But Ronaldo reaffirmed that he is not going anywhere after winning the Nations League.

At the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, Portugal overcame Spain 5-3 in a penalty shootout to win their second Nations League trophy. Prior to being replaced in the game's 88th minute, Ronaldo scored the game-tying goal.

Following the conclusion of the UEFA Nations League Final, Ronaldo said that he has received offers from a number of teams competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, but that he plans to remain at Al Nassr.

"The future? Nothing will change. Al Nassr? Ronaldo responded affirmatively when asked by the press.

Fernando Hierro, Al Nassr's sporting director, announced in May 2025 that the team was in discussions with Ronaldo about extending his contract. He also freely acknowledged that the club was in competition for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's services.

According to reports, Ronaldo, 40, received a lucrative offer from an unnamed Brazilian team. The Portugal attacker hinted last month that he could leave the club following Al Nassr's season-ending game at Al Fateh.

Since joining the Saudi club, Ronaldo may have scored 99 goals in 105 games, but he has not won any significant awards, only the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.

Speaking about the Nations League Final, Ronaldo increased his advantage as the top goal scorer in international football, ahead of Lionel Messi of Argentina and Sunil Chhetri of India, by scoring his 138th international goal.
