Although the BET Awards' 25th anniversary attracted some of the biggest celebrities in the worlds of music, movies, and culture, athletes were also able to have their day.

After previously serving as emcee in 2011, Kevin Hart returned to host the live broadcast from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, June 9.

In a press release, Hart stated, "I adore a celebration! It's an opportunity to reflect, cherish, and honor life's unforgettable moments."

“I'm really honored to be hosting the 25th BET Awards and commemorating the culture's largest evening. My colleagues at Hartbeat, BET, and JCE are pulling out all the stops to make this year's 25th anniversary one to remember.

Doechii, who was nominated for Album of the Year and won Best Female Hip Hop Artist.

SZA - Winner of Best Female R&B/Pop Artist; starred in numerous hit collaborations, such as ‘Luther’ with Kendrick.

Drake – Received six nominations, including Album of the Year and Video of the Year.

With "Timeless," The Weeknd earned nominations for Video of the Year and Album of the Year.

Potential nominations for Album of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Male Hip Hop Artist, among others.

Tyler, the Creator – Up for Best Collaboration, Video Director of the Year, and Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

Leon Thomas – Best New Artist Award Winner.
