The Lady Who Ate the Sun

We're still recovering from the hangover of Mercy For None (starring My Secret Terrius actor So Ji-sub) when a new revenge drama arrives. When you hear the narrative, the title The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun may seem too extreme, but it is not. The story of a mother looking for retribution after the influence of a chaebol empire leads to the death of her only daughter. This series, starring Jang Shin-young, Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, and Oh Chang-suk, is one to keep an eye on.

The First Night With The Duke

For a number of reasons, June 11 is an important day. The most promising K-Drama of the month (after Good Boy, of course) will be released on the same day that six of the seven members of BTS ARMY (Kim Seokjin and Jung Hoseok are already out, while Kim Namjoon, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jungkook will be out after serving in the South Korean military by that day) would be reunited, so BTS ARMY can celebrate.

Ok Taec-yeon (The Game Towards Zero) is back for all those who missed him, and this time, it's in a fantasy series! Lee Beon, the royal prince who lives in a fictional book, is played by the actor in the style of W: Two Worlds Apart. In contrast, our female lead, Seohyun, is a college student who unexpectedly awakens as the aristocratic Cha Sun-chaek. In a tender moment, these two become entangled, but she eventually realizes that he has to be with the woman who was initially planned for his tale (Kwon Han-sol's Jo Eun-ae). However, he is sadly drawn to the woman who lives outside of his world, which is a challenging place to be.

K-Dramas have made certain that love tale doesn't finish too quickly, even if you believed you were already done with Melo Movie. You are transported back into the world of filmmaking with Jeon Yeo-been and Nam Koong-min. Lee Je-ha, his character, is a manufacturer who is caught in a cycle from which he is unable to escape. At that point, he encounters someone who is in a worse situation but doesn't reveal it. Lee Da-Eum, an aspiring actress, struggles with a fatal illness but keeps it a secret until she starts working with the director and they fall in love. Will this love be able to cure her, or will things turn out differently?
