With the title "Candidate Sreekuttan," Sthanarthi Sreekuttan explores a school election in a government school. The movie, starring Sreerang Shine as Sreekuttan, a class VII student, depicts the events at a rural school, the camaraderie among the students, and the infrequent disagreements. In other significant roles, Aju Varghese plays teacher Chakrapani, while Saiju Kurup, Anand Manmadhan, and Johny Antony appear alongside the Jai Mahendran actor. Other cast members include Anand, Kannan Nayar, Ajisha, Sreenath Babu, Jibin Gopinath, and Sruthy Suresh. Vinesh, Murali Krishnan, Anand Manmadhan, and Kailash S Bhavan are listed as the script's writers. Vinesh Viswanath made his directorial debut with this film.

Previously, Sreerang Shine appeared in films like Tovino Thomas' Ajayante Randam Moshanam. He also played the son of Aju Varghese's character in another Tovino-starrer, Identity.
