6 months ago | 5 Views
We've reached the midpoint of 2025, and at last, we have some intriguing initiatives to anticipate for this month! This month sees the conclusion of the hotly debated Squid Game series with season 3, but with Sitaare Zameen Par, Bollywood celebrity Aamir Khan is making a new beginning. Even though Squid Game may be nearing its conclusion, it is still not over. The director had constantly teased a spin-off, and now he provides an update. In an intriguing new development, Hwang Dong-hyuk discusses if the spinoff is really taking place. This is what he stated...
The director discusses the possibility of a Squid Game spinoff
At the 2025 Gotham Television Award, Hwang Dong-hyuk hinted at the development of a Squid Game spin-off and even made suggestions. But he didn't provide any especially fresh news regarding the spin-off. The spin-off will concentrate on what transpired during the three years between seasons 1 and 2 of Squid Game, the director reaffirmed. "If I make a spin-off, it will be a story happening between season 1 and 2. I want to demonstrate what they did throughout those three years between seasons one and two, he said.
Will the spinoff focus on Gong Yoo, the salesperson for Squid Game, or will it be bland?

Fans are left wondering if the spin-off(s) will focus on some of the most intriguing individuals or provide a generic picture of how each character was drawn into the hazardous environment, but the director made no more remarks. The well-liked choice if it centers on a character is Gong Yoo (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God), who portrays the Salesman in Squid Game. In the first episode of Squid Game 2, his appearance and disappearance made it the highlight of the season. It's possible that we'll see the former BigBang member T.O.P., who played Thanos, make a comeback in the season (he was also a part of the season 3 trailer launch), or that Lee David, who played Bad Papa, will turn out to be one of the VIPs as expected. However, the director has so far remained silent about the potential direction of the spin-off.
The third season of Squid Game
Among the reasons why Squid Game's third season is captivating audiences is Lee Jung-jae's Gi-hun's triumph as the VIP in the game. Since Gi-hun was already collaborating with the Frontman's brother (played by Wi Ha-joon of Midnight), coming face-to-face with the Frontman may be the season's turning point. As a result, Gi-hun may have been the one who played the larger game, but everything will be revealed when Squid Game season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 27. How enthusiastic are you for the upcoming season?
