Sanjay Dutt on KD The Devil: “Dhak Deva is a Dangerous Yet Deeply Layered Character”

The first trailer for the pan-Indian Kannada film KD The Devil was released a few days ago. A 1970s gangster tale starring Sanjay Dutt as the formidable Dhak Deva, it also features the well-known Martin-fame Action Prince Dhruva Sarja in the title role. Naturally, the teaser's high point was when Sanjay's Dhak Deva walked into a police station carrying a severed head and placed it on the station officer's desk to report that he had discovered the head but not the body.

This, along with the images of Dhruva brandishing a machete, was evidence of the extreme violence that KD the The Devil would commit. However, Sanjay claims that the script's appeal lies in the fact that the movie isn't exclusively focused on violence and gore. One of Prem's strong suits is his ability to evoke emotions. It is well recognized that the filmmaker excels at using on-screen mother-son feelings to its full potential.

What may Prem have planned for Sanjay, even if Shilpa Shetty's Satyavathi, who is in the movie, will, presumably, bring in some of that emotion? “I loved every minute of working on KD,” the performer says. Dhak Deva is a fascinating character since he is both complex and deadly. The bond between him and his wife, as well as between him and Dhruva's character, Kalidasa, is lovely and propels the narrative forward. The tale is really one of a kind.

KVN Productions, the banner that is also supporting Rocking Star Yash's forthcoming Toxic and Tamil superstar Vijay's most recent picture, Jana Nayagan, has created KD The Devil. Although the crew hasn't released any formal statements, the movie is rumored to have a theatrical debut on September 4. The cinematography is by William David, best known for his work on Vikrant Rona, and the music is by Arjun Janya. The 2-part saga also features, among others, Shilpa Shetty, Reeshma Nanaiah, V Ravichandran, and Ramesh Aravind.
