Telugu actor Nithiin is currently working with director Venku Kudumula for an upcoming film titled Robinhood. The makers on Wednesday announced the release date of the film. Robinhood is set to release in big screens on December 20, the team announced by releasing a new poster featuring Nithiin in a different avatar.

Robinhood gets release date

Written and directed by filmmaker Venky Kudumula, Robinhood is produced by Naveen Yernini and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers production banner. The new poster shows Nithiin donning a cap and coolers as he is seen riding a motorcycle. "All Indians are my brothers and sisters," read the numberplate on the vehicle. The film will hit the theatres on December 20, just ahead of the Christmas celebrations.

The duo has earlier worked on the Telugu film Bheeshma. From the promotional materials released, it is expected that the film will be an action comedy with Nithiin playing the role of a thief. Besides Nithiin, the film will also feature Rajendra Prasad and Vennela Kishore in prominent roles.

It has music by GV Prakash Kumar, while Sai Sriram is in charge of cinematography. Prawin Pudi is the editor and Raam Kumar is the art director. Recently, the makers were shooting an action-packed schedule in Hyderabad, with Ram-Laxman masters coordinating the stunt sequences.

Robinhood - who will play the female lead?

When the project was first announced, it was said that Rashmika Mandanna will play the female lead, thus collaborating with Nithiin and Venky after Bheeshma. However, later, since the actor’s dates were unavailable, she had to opt out of the project. Rashmika is currently busy with The Girlfriend, Rainbow, Pushpa and Kubera.

The makers are yet to officially announce her replacement, but as per reports, Sreeleela, who was last seen in Guntur Kaaram, or Raashii Khanna is expected to be cast as the female lead. Nithiin was last seen in Extra Ordinary Man, an action-comedy film, written and directed by Vakkantham Vamsi.
