After a long ailment, veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee came back home from hospital on March 30. Now, she returned to the shooting set after a break of another month. She returned to the set of the serial Geeta LLB. Her co-workers were elated to see her.

Bhaswar Chatterjee posted a photo on social media on April 27. It shows Basanti Devi in the shooting attire sitting on a chair. Bhaswar puts his head on her lap. Bhaswar wrote, “Thanks to everyone. God heard our prayers. The legendary actress Basanti Devi came back to work. She will start shooting today. I want to express a lot of thanks to Snehasish Chakraborty. It became possible because of you.”

Basanti Chatterjee, a known face on television, has been ailing for a long time. She has been working despite her critical illness. However, she fell ill earlier last month. She was admitted to a nursing home in Dum Dum. Bhaswar Chatterjee and many others collected money for her treatment at that time. They requested it on Facebook and many people helped.

It was known that Basanti Chatterjee was compelled to work despite her illness because of her financial difficulties. Her illness became known through actress Sumita Chatterjee.

Basanti Chatterjee, now 85, has worked in many Bengali films also. She worked with Uttam Kumar and in films of Prosenjit-Rituparna. Manjari Opera, Thogini, and Alo are some of her well-known films. She was previously seen in serials like Baran, Bhutu, and Durga Durgeswari.
