Prior to the July 4, 2025, premiere of Abhishek Bachchan's Kaalidhar Laapata on OTTplay Premium and ZEE5, you should be aware that it is a Hindi version of the critically acclaimed 2019 Tamil film Karuppu Durai (KD). But this is not Bollywood's first time. Hindi blockbusters like Aamir Khan's Ghajini and Ajay Devgn's the Singham series have frequently taken inspiration from the great narrative of Tamil cinema. Tamil movies that were remade in Hindi 

Ghajini

This film, which starred Suriya in the lead role, was originally a Tamil action drama from 2005. Later, in 2008, Aamir Khan remade it in Hindi while maintaining the original title. Vikram Vedha

An additional action drama that was well received by Tamil and Hindi film audiences. Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starred in the Hindi remake, while Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan starred in the original Tamil version. The plot follows police officer Vikram as he diligently looks for the criminal Vedha. However, after Vedha gives up, he asks Vikram to narrate a story that completely changes his life.

Kanchana

With R. Sarathkumar playing the lead in this horror comedy, you can have some spine-tingling laughs. Later, in 2020, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starred in the Hindi remake of this 2011 Tamil drama, which was titled Laxmii. A man is overtaken by three spirits in the tale, which compel him to behave like a woman. The gloomy history of injustice, murder, and retribution of the spirit is revealed as his mother seeks assistance from an exorcist.

Theri

Varun Dhawan starred in the 2024 Hindi remake of Thalapathy Vijay's 2016 smash hit Tamil action drama, Baby John. Police officer Vijaya Kumar is the subject of the film, who is attempting to hide in order to protect his young daughter, but when her life is in danger from a gang of vicious criminals, Vijaya is compelled to confront his shady past and face the threat head on.
