Malayalam latest film, Padakkalam, is all set to make its digital debut soon. The fantasy drama, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharaf U Dheen in lead roles, will be streaming on JioHotstar from next week.

Padakkalam OTT release date

On June 10 at 12 a.m., JioHotstar will offer the movie, which will have its digital premiere a month after its theatrical debut. Mohanlal's Thudarum was recently released on the same platform in a variety of languages. On May 8, the movie Padakkalam started playing in theaters alongside Dileep's Prince and Family and Asif Ali's Sarkeet.

Padakkalam centres on a body-swapping concept

Although it is advertised as a depressing movie, Padakkalam, which is centered on the concept of body switching, does have some lighthearted scenes. The movie takes place at a university where the main characters are two professors, Ranjith and Shaji.

Because they get along well with Ranjith, the students all support him even though they are both vying for the position of head of their college's department. Although Shaji is hired, his suddenly odd behavior forces him to take a break. Meanwhile, Jithin, one of their pupils, discovers that Ranjith, who knows dark magic, is the reason for Shaji's odd behavior. When Jithin and his pals rob Ranjith of his Pachisi set, which grants him the power to employ black magic, their lives change course in an unforeseen way. Their efforts to clean up the mess are the central theme of the movie.

The cast of this fantasy drama, directed by Manu Swaraj, includes Arun Ajikumar, Sandeep Pradeep of Falimy fame, and the Saaf Bros in significant roles. Sharaf U Deen starred in the most recent Malayalam films, Bougainvillea and Level Cross, whereas Suraj had a key role in L2: Empuraan. Niranjana Anoop, who previously portrayed the main character in The Secret of Women, is the film's lead actress.
