Tovino Thomas' latest film, Narivetta, will be available online soon. The police drama will be streaming on Sony LIV as well as OTTplay Premium from this week. 

Narivetta in multiple languages on OTT

The movie has been confirmed to be available on the online platform in various languages starting on July 11. In addition to Malayalam, Narivetta will be available on Sony LIV in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil. After a successful theatrical release, the movie, which was released in theaters on May 23, is now available on OTT. The other two Malayalam films that came out on the same day were Detective Ujjwalan and Azadi. Azadi is now streaming on Sun NXT, Manorama Max, and OTTplay Premium, while Detective Ujjwalan will soon be available on Netflix.

In recent years, Sony LIV acquired the digital rights to several Malayalam films. Naslen's Alappuzha Gymkhana launched its OTT debut on this site in June. Marannamass, Bromance, and Pravinkoodu Shappu were also recently added.

Narivetta praised for being a gritty cop drama

This film, which was helmed by Ishq-fame Anuraj Manohar, effectively captures a community's powerful rebellion against institutional exploitation. The audience hailed Narivetta as a compelling socio-political drama with an engaging narrative and emotive performances.

The main character of the movie is Varghese, who is ultimately compelled to become a police constable. He and his team are assigned to Wayanad soon after his joining, to supervise the Adivasi community who have occupied a restricted area of the forest in protest of the State government's inefficiency in land distribution. Over the course of a few days, Varghese witnesses atrocious incidents that profoundly impact his life.

Cheran, Aarya Salim, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Suraj Venjaramoodu also play important parts in Narivetta. Abin Joseph wrote the screenplay for the movie. Narivetta was financed by Tippu Shah and Shiyas Hassan under the Indian Cinema Company's auspices. The background music and soundtracks for the thriller have been composed by Jakes Bejoy.
