The Brutalist, a Holocaust survivor and Jewish-Hungarian architect played by Adrien Brody, came out in theaters in 2024. The movie tells the story of László Tóth (Adrien Brody), who escapes from war-torn Europe and attempts to start anew in America. When he captures the notice of wealthy industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce), a complicated relationship centered on ambition, influence, and ingenuity emerges.

The novel, which covers several decades, touches on a variety of topics, including art, family, post-war trauma, and the struggle between commercialism and artistic honesty. In addition to Brody and Pearce, Felicity Jones portrays Erzsébet Tóth, László's wife and fellow survivor, while Raffey Cassidy plays László's niece Zsófia, a silent young girl who is deeply impacted by her past. The supporting cast includes Isaach de Bankolé, Emma Laird, Alessandro Nivola, Stacy Martin, and Joe Alwyn.

Awards recognition and box office success

With a modest budget of $9.6 million, the film grossed $50.2 million globally. It was nominated for ten Oscars at the 97th ceremony, making it one of the year's most noteworthy films. Adrien Brody won Best Actor, and the movie also won awards for Best Original Score and cinematography. Best Motion Picture-Drama was one of the numerous honors the movie won at the 82nd Golden Globes.

The American Film Institute's selection of The Brutalist as one of the Top 10 Films of 2024 cemented its status as a pioneering cultural creation of modern cinema.

India's access

In the past, Indian customers could rent the movie on Prime Video and ZEE5, but it was only available for pay-per-view. JioHotstar's soon-to-be-released film on June 28 lets subscribers watch it without having to pay extra for rentals. The offer is probably seen by fans of historical themes and inventive cinema as a means to expand the film's audience and impact.

Brady Corbet's period drama The Brutalist explores a deeply personal post-Holocaust narrative while reintroducing VistaVision, a high-resolution widescreen film format. This gives the film a visual identity that aligns with its storytelling goals.
