About Maa
The mythological horror picture, directed by Vishal Furia and supported by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, also features Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy, Kherin Sharma, and others in significant roles. The plot of the movie centers on how, following her husband's death from a supernatural cause, Aambika and her daughter travel to his hometown, where they come upon a demonic curse that threatens their lives. Although Kajol's acting has been lauded, the movie has been panned by many for its second half and absence of jump scares.
Kajol makes her horror debut with Maa. Kajol informed the Hindustan Times about the reason she accepted Maa, saying, "Maa came to me as a concept note, and I loved it because I am quite a mythology buff. One of my favorite stories is the one about Maa Kali and Raktabeej, and there are so many amazing and fantastic tales from our nation.
