Kuberaa Runtime Twist: Why Telugu and Tamil Versions Differ

5 months ago | 5 Views

For a variety of reasons, Kuberaa is one of the most anticipated films in recent memory. Sekhar Kammula, who is renowned for producing gentle love dramas, is the film's director. This marks the first time that he is prepared with a contemporary social drama starring Dhanush and Akkineni Nagarjuna as the protagonists. On June 20, 2025, the movie will be released on a large number of screens.

The runtime debate between Tamil and Telugu in Kuberaa makes news

As is well known, Sekhar Kammula creates lengthy films, and he has done so again in this case. The movie was more than three and a half hours long when it was sent to the censors. The movie was approved by the censors with a U/A license and 19 edits. However, not many people are aware that the length of Kuberaa's runtimes will vary between Tamil and Telugu. The Tamil version is set at 3 hours and 15 minutes, while the Telugu runtime is fixed at 3 hours and 1 minute.

When asked the same question, director Sekhar Kammula responded that the choice to shorten the runtime in Telugu was made jointly by the cast and producers of the film because it doesn't suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. This is the first time in recent memory that the Tamil and Telugu versions will have such a significant 15-minute gap.

To reduce the length of the Telugu version of Kuberaa

Although they enjoyed Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, the Telugu public does not like extended films. However, not every film will be greeted with such open arms, which is why the length varies, claims the producer, Sunil Narang.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in this film, which has music by DSP. Dhanush will be seen in the role of a beggar, and Jim Sarbh will be seen as the world's richest man. Nagarjuna plays an investigating officer in the film, which will be out on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical release.
