One year after its theatrical debut, the Malayalam movie Karnika is now available for online streaming as of today (June 7). Manorama Max and Simply South are now offering the thriller.

Karnika's update on its OTT release

The movie, which premiered on all digital platforms at midnight on June 7, stars Priyanka Nair in the title role. Viewers from other countries would be able to watch the film on Simply South. The movie Karnika did not get much notice when it was released in theaters in 2024. However, it is expected to gain greater acclaim than it deserves following its OTT release. Several Malayalam films, including Big Ben, Hunt, Ouseppinte Osiyathu, Am Ah, and Maranamass, have recently been released on various OTT platforms. Alappuzha Gymkhana, Naslen's sports drama, will be available on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium beginning June 13.

On August 23, 2024, Karnika made its cinematic debut. The movie was met with mixed reviews after its release on the big screen, despite its compelling screenplay. Priyanka is best recognized for her roles in Kumbasaaram, Vilapangalkkappuram, and Antakshari. She most recently starred in Rekhachithram.

Payyavoor is the town where the movie's protagonist, an author, is assaulted in unusual circumstances. While the police look into this assault case, all signs point to Poovarasi Mana, an ancestral home. The author, on the other hand, is shown to have discovered some terrible truths during a prior trip to this residence. The investigation reveals many unexpected discoveries that show the strong connection between this author and the haunted residence. This is covered throughout the movie.

Important roles in Karnika are played by Viaan Mangalashery, TG Ravi, Kriss Venugopal, and Aadhav Ramachandran in addition to Priyanka Nair. The movie is directed by Arun Venpala, who also composed the score. The director wrote the film's screenplay himself, and Abhini Sohan oversaw its production through Aries Telecasting. Jyothish Joseph and Arun Venpala are the editors, and Aswanth Mohan is the photographer.
