It's a temple where miracles occur, and whatever a worshiper wishes for will come true if they pray hard enough and crawl beneath the stone statue of an elephant. This is the notion that lies behind the plot of Kapata Nataka Suthradari, debutante director-actor Dhiraj MV's political comedy, which is set in an ancient temple. In this ceremony, a somewhat plump "devotee" becomes trapped beneath the idol, and despite everyone's best attempts, he remains there. Worse still, it turns out that this "devotee" is a Muslim named Mohammed Ismail.

Unsurprisingly, the news spreads like wildfire and splits people along lines; should the idol be rescued or is Ismail's life more valuable? The issue that Dhiraj MV covers is the answer to which will be made public when the movie is released in cinemas on July 4, 2025. Delays in the censor clearance and some minor post-production work compelled Dhiraj to postpone his film's theatrical debut, which he had initially scheduled for June 19, by a few weeks.

Kapata Nataka Sutradhari, which was authored by Dhiraj, also features a cast that includes Abhirama Arjuna, Murali Shankar Shastry, Varun Gururaj, Uday Achar, Sughosh Ram, Yogesh Shankar Narayan, Greeshma Sridhar, Harshit Gowda, and Shivakumar Sajjanar, to name a few. Interestingly, Dhiraj accepted the position when he was unable to locate an actor who was prepared to go through the physical change and gain the weight necessary for the picture. The debutant gained more than 45 kg since he was unsure whether a body suit would be sufficient.

The idol of the elephant was an essential component of the temple where Kapata Nataka Sutradhari was filmed in a single, 55-day schedule at a real site. According to Dhiraj, his persona is eccentric, and he couldn't convince a mainstream actor to take the role because of the specifics of the part and the physical requirements.
