With the Rishab Shetty movie Kantara, Sapthami Gowda gained notoriety. Shortly after the picture's great popularity, in 2022, she signed Nithiin's Telugu film Thammudu. After a three-year hiatus, the action thriller is finally scheduled to be released in theaters on July 4, 2025. Sapthami claims that despite being cast in the movie because of her role in Kantara, she still had to audition for her part in the Sreeram Venu film.

"It's been a while since I signed the movie. Although the movie was delayed for unforeseen circumstances, I have no regrets since the timing of its release is ideal. I had to go through a screen test for my part when the producers contacted me after the publication of Kantara. I was on board once they showed me the results, Sapthami said.

Sapthami claims that she plays a village girl in Thammudu and that her character is essential to the story. “In Thammudu, I have a lot of solo scenes, and I didn't have much opportunity to film with other actors in the picture. Sapthami adds that she was shocked to discover that she only filmed for two hours with Nithiin and barely had any opportunity to speak with him.

Sapthami is seen speaking a rural village dialect in the trailer, which is quite challenging for a non-Telugu woman. The trailer's clips show Sapthami broadcasting and giving directions. Sapthami declined to provide further information about the topic, saying that one must see the movie in order to learn more about her character. But Sapthami claims that working in a Telugu movie has been a rewarding experience for her, and she would want to star in more Telugu films in the future.

sharing screen space with Laya and Varsha Bollama

Varsha Bollama and Laya are two more well-known heroines in major roles for Thammudu. When questioned about this, she responds, "Everyone is playing an important role in the picture, even if there are several heroines. In addition to giving the movie greater depth, my character makes me really thrilled to see how the Telugu people react to me in Tollywood, adds Sapthami.

This movie, with music by Ajaneesh Lokanath, is directed by Sreeram Venu, who also helmed the hugely successful Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan. The movie Thammudu didn't have a lot of hype, but since the release of the trailer, there's been a resurgence in excitement, and Sapthami claims that the material in Thammudu is extremely compelling and will undoubtedly grab attention.
