With Ghilli running in packed theatres in Tamil Nadu, Sakthi Film Factory which re-released the film in the state met actor Vijay and congratulated on the success of the film. Ghilli released in 2004 and was one of the commercial successes in Vijay's career. The film re-released recently to celebrate 20 years of Ghilli.

Distributors meet Vijay for Ghilli success

Recently, Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory which distributed Ghilli during its re-release, met with actor Vijay to congratulate on the massive success of the film. A small clip was released in which we see Sakthivelan honouring Vijay with a huge garland and requesting him to do at least one film a year, amid his political aspirations.

"Beyond the business, the audiences are celebrating your films in theatres and for the sake of fans like us, please do one film a year for us to celebrate,” he added. Vijay is seen smiling and nodding to the request.

Ghilli recreated its magic for the second time as well when it re-released recently. Scores of fans thronged to theatres to watch the film. Social media is flooded with videos from theatres, showing audiences celebrating every scene and song. A few screens even played hit songs like Apadi Podu twice, much to the happiness of movie goers. Ghilli stars Trisha as the female lead and Prakash Raj as the antagonist. The film is directed by Dharani.

Vijay’s next GOAT

Vijay is currently working in GOAT- Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film is scheduled to release on September 5. The makers had recently unveiled the first single from the film, Whistle Podhu composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. GOAT also stars Prabhudheva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, and others. The makers are shooting the film in Russia. Meanwhile, Vijay revealed his political intentions and floated his political party. With Ghilli re-release, many fans have requested the actor to not quit acting.
