Romeo, the recently released Tamil film starring actor-composer Vijay Antony in the lead role, is all set to get streaming on OTT. The romantic drama will be available for streaming on Aha Tamil from May 10 onwards, the platform announced on social media.

Romeo is a romantic drama film starring actors Vijay Antony and Mirnalini Ravi in the lead roles. The film is written and directed by Vinayak Vaithianathan and backed by Meera Vijay Antony. After its theatrical run, the film will premiere on Aha Tamil on May 10.

Romeo is about a couple getting married after the man falls in love with a woman. However, the marriage takes place much against the wishes of the girl, who aspires to make it big in the film industry as an actor. However, one day her husband offers to produce the film she and her friends are trying to get, on the condition that he gets to star as the male lead. The rest of the film deals with whether the wife will indeed fall in love with him or not. Vijay Antony and Mirnalini Ravi play the husband and wife, respectively.

Actors Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Ilavarasu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Sudha, and others play supporting characters in the film. Romeo released in big screens on April 11 along with GV Prakash Kumar and Aishwarya Rajesh’s DeAr.

Romeo opened in theatres to mixed reviews. OTTplay review of the film called it “formulaic and momentarily” and said, “Throw in some Kavalan, Mouna Ragam, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and what may come as a surprise but Jigarthanda, there is Romeo for you, presented in the fashion of a romantic comedy film.”

The film’s technical crew consists of cinematographer Farook J Basha, with Vijay Antony handling the editing himself. Barath Dhanasekar has scored the music for Romeo and S Kamala Nathan is the art director. It was shot in Malaysia, Bangkok, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Tenkasi and Mahabalipuram.
