Actress Faria Abdullah is set to captivate audiences once again with her upcoming film, Gurram Paapireddy, an unusual dark comedy slated for a worldwide theatrical release on the 19th of this month. Starring alongside Naresh Agastya, Faria shared exciting details about the unique concept and her challenging role in the movie, which is directed by Murali Manohar. Presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli and produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby), the film promises a narrative unlike any seen before.

Soudhamini: The Nurse Turned Robber

In Gurram Paapireddy, Faria portrays Soudhamini, a character with clear aspirations. She works as a nurse but dreams of pursuing medicine. Her life takes a dramatic and unexpected turn when she crosses paths with the titular character, Gurram Paapireddy, an encounter that forces her to become an unwilling participant in a robbery, alongside his gang.

Faria revealed that the film’s core conflict revolves around the dynamic between the "intelligent people and not-so-intelligent people." Teasing the audience, she added, “Whether I belong to the intelligent group or the other group can be seen in the movie.” She is excited to appear in court scenes before the legendary Brahmanandam, who plays a judge. The actress noted that the various disguises and getups used for these court appearances are a key source of entertainment in the film.

Embracing the Entertaining and the Intense

Known primarily for her role as the innocent 'Chitti' in Jathi Ratnalu, Faria confirmed that she loves the entertainment genre and doesn't reject such offers. However, she emphasized that her character in the new film is a significant departure. “Soudhamini cannot be compared to the Chitti character... Chitti is innocent, whereas Soudhamini is intelligent,” she clarified.

The role also pushed her creative boundaries, as she was required to wear a variety of different getups. She admitted that while the extensive makeup sessions during the summer shoot were time-consuming, such diverse makeovers are a rare opportunity for actors.

Looking ahead, Faria expressed a desire to tackle more intense characters. She is currently working on an intense role as a village girl in a film called Bhagavanthudu, which will showcase a very different side of her acting abilities.

Supporting New Talent and Future Directorial Ambitions

Faria praised the new producers for their "great passion" and effective coordination on set, ensuring the film had everything it needed. She also lauded music director Krishna Saurabh for delivering excellent songs and background scores, including a special promotional song she performed.

Beyond acting, Faria harbors dreams of becoming a director. She used her downtime on the set of Gurram Paapireddy to think about new concepts and scripts, an effort that was actively supported by her co-star, Naresh Agastya, who is also a writer. Faria had a happy working experience with Agastya and also shared a major action sequence with Yogi Babu.

With future projects like Mathu Vadalara 3, a Tamil film with Sandeep Kishan, and the strongly scripted Gayapadda Simham lined up, Faria Abdullah is gearing up for a busy period. She remains eager to explore diverse genres, including action and dark films, challenging the notion that heroines should only focus on looking beautiful.
