Gopichand-starrer Bhimaa has arrived on OTT! The latest Telugu fantasy cop drama is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The movie, which hit the theatres on March 8, opened to lukewarm responses from audiences and critics and was a box office bomb. The film was directed by Kannada director A Harsha in his Telugu directorial debut. Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma are the female leads in this action thriller. 

Bhimaa out on Disney+ Hotstar

Bhimaa is out on the popular OTT platform after 1.5 months of its theatrical release. Disney+ Hotstar had earlier purchased the digital rights for a decent price, according to reports. As the film was a massive theatrical failure, it remains to be seen whether the Gopichand-starrer will garner some attention with its OTT release. 

What is Bhimaa all about?

Fantasy drama, Bhimaa, revolves around a cop who is on a mission to find the reason behind the strange happenings of a temple. The explosive action-packed that is centred around the lead character, Bhimaa, played by Gopichand. The movie takes a deep dive into Lord Vishnu’s 6th avatar, who created the Parasuramuni Kshetram.  

Gopichand, who plays a cop, delivers mass dialogues in his typical macho style. The film draws a connection between the cop and Parasuramuni Kshetram. 

Bhimaa receives mixed reviews

Upon its release, the Gopichand-starrer received mixed responses from the audiences who criticised the film for its outdated storyline. Although Gopichand looks stylish, the movie was called out for its weak writing. The OTTplay review pointed out that the hero introduction, silly comedy, and boring fights would leave one irritated. Ravi Basrur who composed the music for this film, was criticised for his background score as it was quite weak and did not elevate the action blocks as expected. 

What’s next for Bhimaa star Gopichand

Meanwhile, the Telugu macho star is currently shooting for his next film Vishwam. He recently announced two other projects. First in line is a film with director Radha Krishna who had previously directed the actor’s film Jil. The next project is an untitled action drama, which is said to be directed by a newbie. On the other hand, Gopichand has given dates to a newcomer for yet another action drama.
