At the promotion of his most recent film, Soothravakyam, a few days prior, Shine Tom Chacko had announced that his upcoming work would be a VK Prakash film for which filming would start on July 21. The project was kept a secret at the time, but it has since been revealed that CJ Roy of the Confident Group created the movie Bangalore
Among others, Shine is joined by Siju Wilson, Anoop Menon, Iswarya Menon, Baburaj, Riya Mary Roy, Shani Srivastava, Prashant Alexander, Biju Sopanam, Manoj Guiness, Rinosh George, and Vineeth Thattil. The creators of Bangalore High claim that it sends a socially significant message about drug misuse and the importance of saying no to drugs.
Bangalore High was written by a VK Prakash colleague
Based on a tale by Ashish Rajani Unnikrishnan, an associate of VK Prakash, Bangalore High features Siju as a cartel network mastermind, Shanvi as an anti-narcotics officer, Ashwini Reddy as a central crime branch officer, Baburaj as a police inspector, Aswin Jose as a drug peddler, and Anoop Menon as the cartel leader, while Shine is in an unknown position that will link the criminal underworld of drugs and law enforcement.
In a single schedule covering several locations in Bengaluru, VK Prakash plans to complete the film from beginning to end. Given that the actor has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act several times, including recently in April of this year, it does seem like a stunt that the filmmakers picked Shine to star in an anti-drug movie. However, VK Prakash believes that Shine will deliver the appropriate message about saying no to drugs.

At a de-addiction facility, Shine had been receiving treatment after his recent arrest. A family trip to Bengaluru ended in tragedy when the car they were in had an accident, killing Shine's father, as the actor was on his way to recovery. In the incident, the actor broke his left arm.
